I’ m off today and bored so here’ s some news I think might have been missed.
Next Focus RS could get a mild hybrid
No this isnt it
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! reports that the next Focus RS, supposedly coming in ‘22, will have a variation of the Ecoboost with a mild hybrid system. They are saying output could be 400 horses. Whether any of this is true remains to be seen. But ultimately it doesn’ t matter as the US wont get it anyway.
Jag dealers have huge discounts on the XF Sportbrake:
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! reports that some dealers across the country are advertising the XF Sportbrake for $20-30k off. Why? Because they don’ t sell so many most likely have been sitting. So if you want one get one because this thing wont survive another gen.
Here’s a render of a Charger Hellcat Widebody
From !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , they imagine what a Charger coupe would look like. But with the Challenger existing, this thing is most likely going to remain a glimmer in someones eye.
VW is goign to offer incentives to dealers to sell EV’s:
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! reports, via !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , that VW “ will provide a 50-percent “factory match” to U.S. dealers that are prepping to sell the automaker’s upcoming family of EVs.” They want dealers to be prepared to not only sell them, but be able educate buyers and have a charging infrastructure. The program though will be voluntary , so it’ll be up to dealers if they are interested .
CNBC thinks Gen X & Millennials are key to the C8 succeeding
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! mentions that the C8 was made to bring new, younger buyers to the brand, which are badly needed. 61% of Corvette buyers were 55 or older through last year. Its cute they think we can afford a $60k+ mid engine sports car though. Here’s to wishful thinking.
Lastly, here are some interior pics of the Bronco:
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! has a full on gallery, but here are a couple pics. Notice the typical Ford truck wheel and the roof console toggle switches that could be for who knows what.

I like that block of AUX Switches in the Bronco. It’ll probably only be on the FX4 and Raptor tho

I thought we established that millennials spend too much on avocado toast to afford a Corvette.

They use switches like that on the Mustang too. I would bet every version will get them.

There’s an article going around about how the average tech worker’s salary in Seattle is roughly $270k.
I bet those millennials can afford a C8...

Im wondering what they do. Im sure they are mostly for looks and will just control mundane things like map lights or sunroof or something.

Hell we cant even afford avocado toast. Contrary to popular belief many of us are broke. We just act like we aren’t . Especially on social media. But still don’ t count on seeing anyone under 35 in a C8.

Gotta factor in other things though. Housing takes a good chunk of that. Combine that with things like student loan payments etc, and many of those tech workers either don’ t have cars and commute, or drive basic vehicles that if you saw them in them wouldn’ t tell you they make as much money as they do.

They appear to be Ford’s upfitter switches so they should be blank from the factory, so that you can use them for lights, a wench, and other accessories.

Gen X is roughly 1961-81 give or take a few years depending on who you ask, so the oldest of its members are already past 55.

Nailed it. If they think millenials or whatever they are calling our generation have money (or have been smart enough to save money), they are greatly mistaken. Majority of people I know my age have little/no disposable income. I’m waiting for some decently sized catastrophe to trigger a landslide of bankruptcies.

Right. And those of us that are “financially stable” use themselves as an example and think because they are in a good place we all are. Many of our generation and younger are severely financially illiterate to the point of not even knowing what basic things like a mortgage or a bankruptcy even are. We have no disposable income. Many of us still live at home with parents or family, and won’t be able to do anything for decades with our student loans. We aren’t paying C8s.

Those of us that do have money are trying to be financially responsible, which also usually means not spending stupid amounts of money on what is essentially a toy.

Lots of millennials, at least a number of millennials I know/work with/am related to will gladly shell out $60,000+ for a luxury pickup truck that will never tow anything, go off road, or have its weight limit even close to tested. The question is can the Corvette get younger buyers back into cars, and can it get them comfortable with spending top range pickup truck and crossover money on a car .

Ihave a cousin that will talk shit about my collection, yet drives a 60k truck. only difference is 2 of the cars are holding steady vs his constant depreciating asset.
